Cloud Computing - The Pros and The Cons
Cloud Computing - it's here, it's there, it's everywhere. Some believe it's the future. They say if you aren't taking advantage, you could probably be left behind.
So,what is it? Well, Cloud computing is a reference to computing resources, (like software or hardware) that exist on computers that are at a distance from the user, and are delivered and employed by end users as a service over a network( like the internet ). Chances are likely that you are already using cloud-based computing without even realizing it. For instance, web-based email services are "in the cloud."
Pros:
Cloud computing is the most cost efficient method to work, maintain, upgrade and progress. Traditional desktop software costs companies a lot in terms of finance. To top it off, licensing fee for multi-user based infrastructures is a nightmare for financiers. On the other hand, cloud is available at much cheaper rates which significantly lowers the company's expenses. Working or operating on the cloud can be inexpensive and maintenance free for IT companies.
Cloud is a leveraged infrastructure as a service. So, quick development of apps and tools that support your infrastructure is possible. And if the load on an application grows, one can scale horizontally by provisioning new servers.
Storing information in the cloud gives us almost unlimited storage capacity. One no more needs to worry about running out of storage space or increasing your current storage space availability.

Besides, one will need a very good Internet connection to be logged onto the server at all times. Connectivity problems can cause immense loss of data and info.
Security issue is one of the major issues of Cloud Computing. Once one adopts this technology, it means that one will be surrendering one's company’s sensitive information to a third-party cloud service provider, putting the company at great risk. Hence, you need to make absolutely sure that you choose the most reliable service provider, who will keep your information totally secure.
